Meet the Marlins.

Nick Fitzpatrick

Nick Fitzpatrick is a Co-Founder of Australia’s largest private coaching organisation, the Australian Cricket Institute which sees thousands of junior cricketers go through its programs and tournaments nationally each year. Prior to launching the Australian Cricket Institute, he worked in game development for Queensland Cricket while pursuing his playing career. A long time Sunshine Coast Scorcher his career highlights include representing QLD at U/19, Colts and 2nd XI level, winning a premier first-grade competition and winning the Peter Burge medal. Nick’s motivation to be involved with the BPL is making a positive impact on the game he loves and connecting kids to the brand of cricket they watch on TV.

Dylan Pinkstone

Dylan has lived on the Sunshine Coast his entire life and was a junior cricketer at the Maroochydore Cricket Club. He made his way through the ranks playing representative cricket for various teams, before playing senior cricket at Maroochydore and ultimately making his Sunshine Coast Scorchers debut wearing cap number 96. Playing for the Scorchers is something that Dylan regards as one of his highest achievements. Dylan owns and operates the company, Coastal Connect Electrical and enjoys investing his time into family and friends and most importantly, his young son Oakley. Dylan is still incredibly passionate for the game of cricket, and for this reason, he chose to invest in the Marlins. He looks forward to seeing the opportunities this game brings to players, support staff and administrators. Bring on the BPL!

Travis Schultz

Travis is the Managing Partner of a medium-sized South East Queensland law firm, Travis Schultz & Partners. He brings to the Marlins a passion for the game forged through his years of junior cricket along with decades of experience as a lawyer, board director and consultant. These days, Travis remains involved in the game as a junior coach and manager of representative teams – as well as playing low-level seniors in a “Dads and lads” team (just to enjoy some time in the middle with his 13 year old cricket mad son!).

Jared Pinkstone

Jared has been involved with Sunshine Coast Cricket from a grassroots level, where he developed a passion and love for the game. Having experience in both representative junior and senior cricket on the Coast, Jared provides experience and a youthful perspective to the Marlins setup. These days Jared works as a surveyor at a local survey firm on the Sunshine Coast. He remains current with the game that he grew up loving and is excited about the future for cricket on the Sunshine Coast particularly the opportunities which the BPL will provide for experienced cricketers.

Joel Hamilton

Joel has spent a majority of his young life on the Sunshine Coast. Playing locally as a junior in the Sunshine Coast competition for Caboolture and Burpengary before he moved to pursue playing premier cricket in Brisbane at 17. In a professional sense, Joel has worked extensively within the Sunshine Coast region as a Game Development Manager before taking up an opportunity to pursue his dream to play professionally. Packing his life up and moving down to Melbourne to train with the Bushrangers and Renegades in the hope of a contract. In that time, Joel had also turned to business and has since developed the Australian Cricket Institute into the largest privatised coaching company in Australia with his Business Partner and good friend Nick Fitzpatrick. Joel loves to get back to the coast whenever he can and spend time with friends and be around the beach!
